IRCC has announced new policies for ‘In Canada’ workers /students to apply for Permanent residency.

The public policies are temporary and will be in effect from May 6th, 2021 to November 5th, 2021.

There is no LMIA or job offer requirement.


There are four streams:

1. Worker with a minimum of one year of Canadian experience in eligible occupations (refer to IRCC list of occupations).

2. Recently graduated International Students from DLI post-secondary private/public Canadian institutions.

3. French-speaking worker with a minimum of one year of Canadian experience in eligible occupations (refer to IRCC list of occupations)

4. French-speaking International Students who are recently graduated from DLI post-secondary private/public Canadian institutions.


Note- There is a cap for Stream 1 (Annex A- maximum 20,000 and Annex B- maximum 30,000) and Stream 2 (40,000)


It can prove to be a very good opportunity for people who are seeking permanent residence status in Canada. Since there is a cap on the number of people to be absorbed in each category, people are advised to act quickly and get themselves assessed.
